Going to spend a week in Italy. Plan to start in Rome and move up north to end in Venice. Grandparents have tagged along for the ride – should be interesting!
We had an adventure just getting here. Forgot to book the car (mini-cab in English terms..) to the airport until the last minute and being peak hour we of course ended up stuck in traffic – watching the minutes slowly tick away.. The car pulls up to the terminal with three minutes to be at the gate – approximately 7,000km away of course – and we agree to leave Nan & Pop behind and make a run for it. We make it there and collapse into our seats (Easyjet doesn’t allocate seats either, so Jess & I are at complete opposite ends of the plane), gasping for breath but trying to act calm & cool. Doors close and Nan & Pop aren’t to be seen.
Arrival in Rome and the pre-booked car hasn’t actually been booked (no biggie as bus is much cheaper for 2 anyhow), grandparents are staying at airport Hilton back in London for exorbitant prices and paid for new flight in the morning … but we get pizza and beer in a tacky restaurant and the whole room to ourselves!
