After another 6 hours further south on a bus from El Calafate – including an hour at what must be the world’s windiest border crossing – and we’ve arrived in the sleepy Chilean town of Puerto Natales. Not much here to offer except access to the Torres Del Paine national park where we’re hoping to spend a few days hiking.
Looking for somewhere to stay we found Nancy’s hostal, a little family-run affair also with hiking rental – helpful as we’ll need a fair bit of gear for the trek. Time to begin packing for our departure into the wilds tomorrow morning.
